The Outfield

Welcome to The Outfield, a new park open to the public in Nashville’s burgeoning Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.

We would describe our role on this one as “Creative Pinch Runner.”

When our client pitched us the idea to re-imagine the old Greer Stadium outfield wall on these shipping containers, we knew we had to swing for the fences. We created numerous ad/logo options and variations for the Adventurous Journeys team to consider. This included 1-for-1 recreations of classic logos, re-imagining some Nashville icons, making retro versions of some modern-day brands, and adding a few original gems to round everything out. We even made a miniature magnetic version of the wall so the team could test different options in order to come to a final decision about every detail.

Jarvis Signs knocked it out of the park with the fabrication and installation of the oversized records on the United Record Pressing sign as well as a REAL TIRE attached to the top of the wall.

And the real MVP in this epic collaboration is I Saw the Sign, who brought it all home with expert painting (even on the roof!) including an amazing eye for detail and some serious weathering to make sure everything had the perfect worn-in patina.

Needless to say, this was a real team effort and we’re thrilled about how it turned out.

Huge-Ass Amps

As the project was wrapping up, our attention turned to the back side of the containers. Working in collaboration with Adventurous Journeys, we needed to consider what color to paint the reverse side of the containers to give everything a finished, consistent look. We mocked up several different color options, and as a wild-hare idea, the last page in the PDF was titled “Huge-Ass Amps.” It just made sense to pair with the huge-ass guitar above.
